Espoo, Finland – The Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK) and Skilltize Oy join forces to increase online education export. The two parties have signed an agreement this week to work closely together in providing top education from Tampere to learners around the world through direct sales as well as through the new Online University of Finland service operated by Skilltize.
In cooperation with Skilltize TAMK will make its renowned online courses available to a broader global audience. TAMK’s Head of Global Education Carita Prokki sees a big potential in online learning for her organization and for Finnish education in general. “Over the last years we have made some very good experiences with teaching learners from various countries online. We are now ready to take it to the next level.” Prokki is certain that the new cooperation is going to benefit both partners.
The very first online courses from TAMK are already listed on the Online University of Finland website. “With the new platform we will create an international brand for Finnish higher education. We want educational institutions, corporates as well as individual customers to find online courses in highly reputable subjects from Finnish universities easily from one source. Signing the agreement with TAMK is an important step.” says Mika Martikainen, Managing Director of Skilltize. All Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences are welcome to join the initiative and make Finland an important player on the global online education market, Martikainen adds.
